New Exhibition at Spinnerei Leipzig

With pleasure we like to announce Constellation of Lines, the first presentation of a group of small drawings by Christiane Baumgartner. During the last two years she developed an abstract style of drawing. Subtle variations in densities of lines evoke spacial bodies of an unknown origin. As if these works have an abrubt genesis and release of energy as subject.
Simultaneously with these drawings we’ll show the new woodcut print Game Over and some smaller woodcut prints.
To get an impression of recent works we’ll offer a link to her work:

Farbscala aus drei Farben auf zwei Ebenen, 2009 is a composed work by Paul Heimbach, consisting of 64 color range works. In two different layers of transparent paper Heimbach made horizontal hand drawn lines in three basic colors and 64 combinations, gradually traced in a more complex layered way. It is an amazing play of color layers brought together in one installation.
In the link there is a German text on this project and an image of the installation:

Thinking in Pictures by Robin Waart is an ongoing project started in 2007, amounting in an installation and book publication first presented in 2010-2011. It’s a collection of movie stills based on exploring over 1200 movies from 1930 onwards, of moments when someone says “What do you think?” or “What are you thinking?” These movie stills are presented in a book and also by way of an old fashioned slide projector. The book archives and indexes the first five hundred ‘thinking’ images. As a slide show it is featuring subtitled movie stills, always only reading What do you think? and What are you thinking?

More information can be read and seen on:

The gallery shall offer documentation on the oeuvre of these three artists. On request we can send you additional information by e-mail.

With best regards,
Juliette Kaiser & Johan Deumens
